Miss Erin, Pre-K/Kinder Head Teacher
Miss Erin started as an assistant to Julie Green in 1995. After a year, she went full time to school and received a California State Teaching Credential and taught in public school for two years. After she had her first baby, she switched back to Montessori so she could be close to her own child while still being able to teach.
Miss Erin has been a Head Teacher for 14 years. All of her children have attended MCA from our Toddler Program through Kindergarten. She loves the Montessori philosophy of respecting each child for who they are while nurturing and directing them towards becoming contributing citizens of the community. She also loves seeing their growth and development over the two to three years she gets to have them in her classroom.
One of her favorite Maria Montessori quotes:
"If help and salvation are to come, they can only come from the children, for the children are the makers of men."
Miss Mary, Pre-K/Kinder Head Teacher
Miss Mary has been with MCA since 2000. She took a four-year break from 2012-2016 to start her own family. Her two sons are now students here. She attended college at CRC and finished her Montessori credentials through Montessori Teacher Training Center. She also completed Mini Yogis yoga for kids training and the Peace Education training with Sonnie McFarland.
Miss Mary likes Montessori because at allows all children to learn at their own level. Also, there is nothing like watching a child realize he/she can read for the very first time! Her favorite thing to do is to watch her boys explore the world around them. She also enjoys yoga, gardening and camping.

Miss Crystal, Toddler Afternoon Director
Miss Crystal has been with us since 2010. She has 4 AA degrees (Social Sciences, General Education, Liberal Arts in Art & Humanities, Liberal Arts in Social and Behavioral Sciences).
The thing Miss Crystal enjoys most about working with children is that they challenge her as much as she challenges them. As each child reaches new milestones, she gets to experience their accomplishment and pride right along with them. She is passionate about reading, writing, art and photography. Part of her job as Afternoon Director of the Toddler program is getting to create art projects for the children. She loves watching the same passion for the arts awakening in the children at such an early stage, just as it did for her.
Miss Crystal’s favorite Montessori Quote is “The things he sees are not just remembered; they form a part of his soul.”

Miss Julie, Director
Miss Julie knew she wanted to be a teacher since she was in Kindergarten. She comes from a large family and grew up with 7 siblings. She attended Brigham Young University where she majored in Elementary Education. Her first experience as an educator was in public school teaching 2nd and 6th graders. She obtained her Montessori teaching credential from an AMS Montessori College in the Bay Area in 1991. She then taught for 20 years before stepping out of the classroom to focus more on the administrative side of things. Julie still loves to be involved with the children and especially loves to be a guest at circle time to sing and read. All three of Julie's children graduated from MCA (2 are in college now and one is not far behind). She is convinced that their academic success was a direct result of the love of learning that they developed here at MCA.
